Check-in is not just about handing over the keys. It’s the moment when the guest forms their first impression — and that means it affects your rating, their review, and the chances they’ll return or recommend you to others.

Here’s what you must do before arrival:

🔍 Double-check the booking

Make sure you clearly understand the check-in date and time, and that it matches your schedule.

Check how many guests are coming — often two people arrive, even if the booking is for one.

Read the booking comments — there might be requests like “need a crib” or “we’ll arrive late.”

🛏 Make the property spotless

Fresh sheets and towels are the bare minimum.

Ensure everything works: lights, AC, outlets, Wi-Fi.

Stock up on soap, toilet paper, drinking water. If there’s a kitchen, there should at least be tea and sugar.

Walk through the space: check for odors, trash, dust, hair. It should be clean as if you're expecting an inspection.

🤝 Add a warm touch

A small surprise works better than any ad — candies, fruit, or local treats.

A short welcome note with your contact number is a basic sign of respect.

If you're meeting the guest in person — be friendly and take your time. A couple of minutes to explain things goes a long way.

📈 Why does this matter?

A good check-in = good reviews = more bookings. Simple math. If you want your property to work for you — you need to work for it.
